I am a linguist, with a background in export sales and marketing, but since having a family I have become much more interested in using natural and holistic therapies to achieve well-being and felt that this was a career path that I wanted to follow. Having experienced hypnotherapy myself, I felt drawn to learn more about this fascinating subject.
After completing a BA degree in humanities with the Open University, I decided to take the hypnotherapy practitioner’s diploma (HPD)approved by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). As well as being a member of the NCH, I am also a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, these are the two main bodies for hypnotherapy regulation in the UK.
I regularly take additional cpd courses, and this has included training in brief solution-focused therapy, motivational therapy and positive psychology at the British Psychological Society. I have also undergone training in mindfulness meditation and reiki. The most recent training I have undertaken has been EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprogramming), an exciting therapy which has been used successfully in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder.
I have a warm, friendly, non-judgemental style and am keen to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, whilst benefiting significantly from this wonderful therapy. I practice from my consulting room in the garden of my home in the heart of the Suffolk countryside.
I have a strong interest in nutrition, and combine with this with my love of cooking and baking, focusing particularly on ways I can cut out the gluten, dairy and sugar but still have delicious food. I believe that you CAN have your cake and eat it.
My husband Andrew and two sons, Olly and Joe, keep me entertained and feeling shorter by the day.
